District Meetings
One of the benefits of membership in NCRGEA is an invitation to attend a district meeting in your area once every three years. The meeting begins at 8:15 a.m. with registration and refreshments. A panel discussion follows with speakers from the Retirement System, the State Health Plan, the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program and others. Members and a guest are also served a complimentary lunch.

SECU Financial Readiness Seminars
The North Carolina Retired Governmental Employees' Association (NCRGEA) and the State Employees' Credit Union (SECU) have partnered to offer financial readiness seminars to NCRGEA members and SECU's retired Golden Circle Members. The seminars will be held in various North Carolina cities and will be scheduled throughout the year.
The purpose of the seminars is to better educate members on various financial topics. The topics include Understanding Credit Reports and What You Need to Know about Identity Theft. SECU first partnered with NCRGEA in the fall of 2005, when SECU personnel presented information on similar topics at NCRGEA's district meetings in western North Carolina. Since these presentations were so well received by NCRGEA members, we asked SECU personnel to expand the partnership by offering these workshops statewide.
